$125.00

SKU: katana26 Category:

In this Special Seminar, participants will learn the proper use of Katana from Japanese Kenjutsu focusing on practical application of techniques and tactics for sword combat before applying it to film fighting.

This seminar will begin by covering key elements of proper defensive, attacking, and counter attacking techniques before moving to drawing methods and attacks from Iaido. This will include parts of Japanese etiquette stemming from sword safety and usage in order to understand the meaning behind common story tropes in samurai films.

When: April 19th
Time: 1:00 to 5:00

With this foundation, we will then explore using Japanese swords in fight choreography and how to blur the lines of proper form for the aesthetics of an on screen performance without sacrificing safety or plot authenticity.
