Private Lessons

Choose from multiple options to set up a lesson that works for you

Private Lessons

When preparing for an audition, role, or seeking opportunities to intensify your training, a more individualized approach to your training will help you learn faster with the specificity that comes from one-on-one attention.

NYCSS offers private lessons which provide quality instruction paired with the flexibility and convenience of working around your schedule. The individual attention of private lessons will polish skills and can fix problems early before they become a habit.

Pricing and Options

NYCSS will work with you to set up a lesson that meets your goals while staying within your budget.

Students have the option of working with Jared Kirby directly or with another NYCSS Instructor. Please note the below rates do not include the cost of a training space.

Lessons with Jared

1-hour lesson = $150
2-hour lesson = $250
3-hour lesson = $350

*please note that Jared’s standard rate is $250/hr, but the above discounted rate is offered to non-corporate events.*

Certified NYCSS Instructors

1-hour lesson = $75
2-hour lesson = $150
3-hour lesson = $225

Spaces for your Lesson

You are responsible for covering fees for space. If you have access to a space for free our instructors may be able to travel to you.

We are also happy to work outside in a park when the weather cooperates. There are several parks we rehearse/train in which don’t mind a little stage and screen combat happening. If this is the plan, please be prepared to cover the cost of moving to an indoor space if the weather does not cooperate. A lesson cannot be cancelled due to the weather.

In Studio

Lessons are typically offered in midtown at Studio 353 (353 48th St. between 8th/9th) or Ripley-Grier Studios (520 8th Ave) and run between $30-35/hr.

Over Zoom

NYCSS is excited to begin offering private lessons over Zoom. Whether individually or in a small group, get face-to-face with an NYCSS instructor and keep on training, even from home!
