The Rapier was the preferred weapon of the nobility throughout Europe for most of the 16th-17th century. This Long, slender-bladed sword was often carried with a dagger and saw frequent use in the streets as well as on the dueling field. In modern application the use of the rapier is a fundamental skill for Stage & Screen Combat.
Beginner students will begin with the foundations and fundamentals of using the weapon while students who have trained with NYCSS before will look at more advanced applications and concepts. By the end of the course students will apply all of these skills into a choreographed fight.
This class will be taught on Saturdays August 27th through October 1st from 11am to 2pm.
This course will be taught by NYCSS Instructor Tony Mita
*All in-person training will follow NYCSS Covid Precautions and Protocols*
