Old West Stunt Pro Experience

An immersive training event on a working ranch

Join us at Rancho Indalo for this stunt training intensive hosted by veteran stunt performer Anthony Delongis! This event is 6 days of training plus 1 day of filming. Accommodation, 3 meals a day and the training are all included in the cost. This is limited to 8 people so it is an intensive training experience.

Schedule

Wednesday, July 31st: Arrival
Arrive at the ranch in the afternoon/early evening

Thursday (August 1st) to Monday (August 5th): Training

8:00-9:30am – BREAKFAST prep / Chores / Eat Breakfast
9:45 – 12:45pm – Training
1:00-2:00pm – LUNCH  (prep / cleanup / relax)
2:00-4:00pm – Training
4-4:30pm – Break
4:30 – 6:30pm – Training
-:30-7:30pm – Break (showers / relax / Horse work / dinner prep)
7:30 – 8:30pm –  DINNER

*There will be time to take a shower, get some more knife / tomahawk throwing or archery, or just sit and enjoy a coffee (or a glass of wine) before dinner. After dinner there will be movies, alcoholic libations (there are stores at the bottom of the hill so stock up at the beginning of the week), and good company. The selection of movies (mostly action films) will be used to examine the choreography & story *

Tuesday, August 6th: On Set Filming Day
Participants partner up and create choreography utilizing the skills and weaponry studied during the course of the training. There are locations around the ranch to shoot short action film sequences. Everyone will embrace the challenge of limited time (like a real set) and have some unedited, on location footage to study as part of the adventure.

*Please bring a set of “old west” clothes for this shoot. When others are filming, you will be part of the team doing safety, or other behind the scene work*

Wednesday, August 7th: Open Training
Open training time with Anthony. This will be driven by what you want to work on so as the week goes on, make a list!

Thursday, August 8th: Departure
Breakfast will be served. Everyone will need to depart by 11am

Accommodations

This is an “on-location” adventure, so you will be “roughing it”!

There are multiple options based on your comfort:
– There are two outdoor sleeping areas with couches that are very comfortable.
– The stunt mats are comfortable and can be used on the ‘infinity’ deck under the trees if you like.
– Depending on the number of participants, there may be a tent with large cots (sleeps 4).
– The Bunk House (sleeps 2-3) and is reserved for our female participants.

Laundry

There will be two laundry days so people can have clean clothes for training and for when everyone leaves for Vegas.

Shower & Cleanup

The ranch has a private outdoor shower setup (which is wonderful with a view to the west that’s breathtaking) as well as a portable toilet facility for the duration of the seminar.

*Bring a personal towel for your stay*

Wifi & Communication

There is good WIFI and phone service at the top of the mountain.

Meals

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
These are included with your registration. Dr. Mary makes 3 delicious, nutritious meals each day but needs a bit of help (see more on chores below)

Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
*Please make us aware of any food allergies (dairy / gluten intolerances, vegetarian, etc.) and Mary will do her best to accommodate. Dr. Mary is an artist in the kitchen but this is not a restaurant (i.e. you don’t get to choose a different from a menu). There will be a variety of rotating proteins for different days (beef, chicken, turkey, fish, etc.) with salads, vegetables, fruit, home cooked breads / muffins / cakes. It’s one meal cooked for the group, not individuals. She will do her best to accommodate vegan / vegetarian options but we need to know in advance as there can be no last minute surprises.*

Possible Classes

Training will focus on the Old West and will possibly include:
-Unarmed Combat for Film

-Sword fighting
-Whip work
-Cane/Stick Fighting

The Horses (Before Breakfast & After Dinner):
This will take 2-3 people less than 15 minutes to feed them and muck out the stalls (forks and wheel barrow)
