We Duel at Dawn: A Performer’s Guide to Dueling

March 12 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT

$75.00

Dueling is a gripping climax that exists in many of our stories from Hamlet to The Count of Monte Cristo, Dangerous Liaisons to Hamilton. The Princess Bride offers a playful approach while Twelfth Night gives us a comedic ending.

This Sunday Seminar will take a look at a performers’ approach to a duel through character. In this month’s seminar participants will take elements of historical protocol and decorum to implement into their performance. Creating a scene with all of the appropriate terms and processes of a duel and executing Sabre choreography that compliments this formal agreement.
From there, we will play with the reality of the duel from a character stand point. What energy or intention is your character bringing in? Do they want to be there? Do they know what they’re doing? How does that change the scene? How does that change the fight? Join us and come find out!
