The term ‘swashbuckler’ has grown far beyond its 16th century origins into a style all its own. By the golden age of Hollywood it had become synonymous with the thrilling adventures of pirates, bandits and heroes. So much so that stories like Robin Hood and Zorro have excited audiences for generations. What was it that made these stories so memorable? A good sword fight!
Join us for this specialized weapons track and learn to perform these fantastical fights yourself. Students will build a basic foundation in the weapon, then learn to add a few tricks and twirls (along with their own personal style). From there class will then learn the techniques used to build the grandiose, elaborate fights Swashbuckling is known for!
This 5 week track will run from 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays, April 22nd to May 20th
This Weapon Track will be Taught by NYCSS Instructor Tony Mita
