Our Pop Culture is filled with fantastical settings that take us all the way from Middle Earth to a galaxy far, far, away. Such vast worlds in our collective imaginations makes it hard to separate the real life weapons and their use from the whirly-twirley moves of fantasy.
This 6-week track will focus on the martial use of the Dueling Saber for stage and screen combat before shifting towards using the weapon in a fantasy setting. The track will ultimately lead to applying these techniques to the fantasy laser-sword.
This course will be taught by NYCSS Instructor Kaitlyn Farley and run for 6 weekly, three hour classes on Saturdays November 7th through December 12th from 10:00am to 1:00pm. That’s 18 hours of training!
*All Participants must be Registered by Thursday, November 5th at 8:00pm*
