Combat on Camera: Film Fighting For Actors

The camera’s rolling on our next specialized Saturday track This 6-week track will focus on bringing stage combat to the screen. It’s not enough to just throw a punch, you have to cover your angles and make sure those hits look convincing when the camera is rolling. Students will start by taking the punches and hits common to a film fight and learning how to ‘sell’ them depending on the shot and angle the camera placed. The Long and Short of it (6-Week Track)

So many weapons, so little time!  Weapons come in so many shapes, sizes and forms that it can be hard to keep track (let alone learn)! This new NYCSS Track lets you gain a taster of 3 different weapons over the course of 6 weeks. That's 6 hours of training with each weapon! Participants will get a feel of the long and short of these weapons through training Quarterstaff, Sabre, and Knife.
